I bought a Silvercrest Car Radio with CD and MP3 player (KH2380) from LIDL a few weeks ago?

However I believe the unit is totally draining my car battery ā the battery had been dead now on three occasions after not driving the car for about 2 to 3 days.
The car is a FIAT Punto sporting MK2 ā 6 years old (1999 / 2000 Model).
The first time this happened I changed the original battery for a brand new one (Bosch Silver) which Iād first charged overnight.
The silvercrest only has 4 pins on it ā I have read somewhere that the wiring for the FIAT Punto was non standard and that you need to swap the yellow and red wires around.
Or just remove the yellow wire totally that supplies power to the unit even when the car is off? I do not mind losing radio presets as I only ever listen to CD / MP3 anyway. My main concern is to always have a car that starts.
Any head unit shouldn't drain the battery as yours does, I think it may be wired incorrectly.
I'd run 2 direct lines from the battery 1 via an inline fuse straight to the head unit power in and one to the earth, link the constant live to the ignition input if you ever do want to save your presets.
Either that or the alternator belt is loose or a bad connection somewhere else.
